MARKORON LLC Sheridan, Wyoming

Commercial energy procurement

You signed once. The contract has been renewing itself ever since.

Markoron reads your electricity and gas invoices, solicits live pricing from licensed suppliers in your market, and executes the switch. Same utility, same meter, same service. A different number at the bottom of the bill.

Rate comparison

Illustrative
Illustrative comparison of a current contracted rate against market pricing
You are paying 0.0912 /kWh
Market, this week 0.0781 /kWh
Difference 0.0131 /kWh

On 400,000 kWh a year, that difference is $5,240 left on the table. Your figure depends on your usage and the week you sign.

Example only. Markoron does not guarantee a saving, and will tell you when your current rate is already competitive.

01 Terms of engagement

What this costs you, stated plainly.

A broker is only useful if you can see how they are paid. Ours is on the page.

ItemTerms
Account review Rate, tariff class, meter multipliers, contract end date. No charge
Our compensation A margin inside the rate, paid by the supplier you choose. Disclosed on every option we present. Supplier-paid
Who holds the contract Between your business and the supplier. We are not a party to it. You
Service interruption Your utility still owns the wires and reads the meter. Nothing is switched off. None
If we cannot beat your rate Staying put is a legitimate outcome. We put it in writing either way. We say so
Leaving us No lock-in on our side. Take the next renewal elsewhere if you want to. Any renewal

02 What actually changes

One link in the chain. Nothing else moves.

The most common question we get is whether the lights go out during a switch. They do not. Switching supplier changes who sells you the energy, not who delivers it.

Exhibit B — Path of supply Only step 2 changes

Step 01

Generation

Power stations, wind, gas fields.

Unchanged

Step 02

Supply

Who sells you the energy, and at what rate.

This is what we change

Step 03

Delivery

Your utility’s wires, pipes and meter. Same crews, same outage number.

Unchanged

Step 04

Your site

Same meter, same service. One line on the invoice reads differently.

Unchanged

Your utility remains responsible for outages, emergencies, meter reads and the physical connection, whoever supplies your energy. That obligation is set by state regulation, not by your supply contract, and no broker can alter it.

03 Why the bill drifts

Nobody renegotiates. Suppliers price accordingly.

  1. 01

    Rollover rates

When a term ends most contracts drop onto a variable holdover rate. It is rarely the best number available, and it renews quietly.

  2. 02

    The week you signed

Wholesale prices move daily. Signing on a bad week can cost more over a term than choosing the wrong supplier entirely.

  3. 03

    Charges below the headline

Pass-through capacity, transmission adders and bandwidth clauses routinely undo a rate that looked cheap on the cover page.

  4. 04

    Plain billing errors

Wrong rate class, stale meter multipliers, misapplied tax exemptions. Common, and often recoverable as a credit.

04 Bill review

Seven things we look for on one invoice.

Most of what a business overpays is not on the line everybody looks at. Below is a specimen commercial invoice with the points we check marked on it.

What each mark means

  1. 1

    Rate class

GS-2 is not automatically the cheapest class for this load. Being on the wrong tariff can cost more than being with the wrong supplier.

  2. 2

    Meter multiplier

A stale multiplier misstates every kilowatt-hour on the invoice. We check it against the meter, not against last month’s bill.

  3. 3

    Supply charge

The only line a competitive contract moves. This is the number we shop, and the number our compensation sits inside.

  4. 4

    Distribution

Set by your utility and identical whoever supplies you. Anyone promising to cut this line is selling you something else.

  5. 5

    Transmission & capacity

Often passed through separately rather than fixed. A headline rate that excludes these is not the rate you end up paying.

  6. 6

    Tax treatment

Manufacturing, agricultural and non-profit exemptions are routinely missed, and where they apply they are often recoverable retrospectively.

  7. 7

    Contract expiry

The rollover date. We begin soliciting the market before it, not after — which is the difference between a chosen rate and a default one.

Specimen figures. Supplier name, account number and amounts are fictional and used to illustrate the layout of a typical commercial invoice.

We do this before you commit to anything. One invoice is enough to tell you whether there is a case to answer.

05 Process

Four steps. You do the first one.

One recent invoice per meter, as a photo or a PDF. That is the whole ask on your side.

Send one bill
  1. 01 Send one bill You

A photo or PDF of a recent electricity or gas invoice.

  2. 02 Audit Markoron

The seven points in Exhibit A, plus your usage profile and contract end date.

  3. 03 Solicit the market Markoron

Live pricing from licensed suppliers in your state, compared on total delivered cost rather than headline rate.

  4. 04 Execute Markoron

You choose an option. We file the paperwork and confirm the changeover date with the supplier and utility.

06 Estimator

Arithmetic, not a quote.

This multiplies what you spend by a rate improvement you pick. It is here to show you whether the conversation is worth having. The real number comes off your invoice.

07 Scope of work

What we handle.

Electricity procurement

Fixed, indexed or blended supply contracts priced against your actual load shape rather than a class average.

Natural gas supply

Therm pricing, seasonal exposure and balancing terms, reviewed alongside the electricity contract rather than separately.

Invoice audit & recovery

Rate class, meter multipliers, demand charges and tax exemptions checked. Where a utility has billed in error we pursue the credit.

Renewal management

Every contract end date in your portfolio is tracked, and shopping starts before the rollover rate can take hold.

Multi-site aggregation

Locations combined into a single solicitation, so smaller meters are priced on the strength of the whole portfolio.

Contract review

Before signature: pass-through language, bandwidth penalties, early termination terms, and precisely what happens at expiry.

08 Markets

Where a business can choose its supplier.

Retail choice is a matter of state law. In these markets your business may buy energy from a supplier other than the incumbent utility.

Note on Wyoming

We are based in Sheridan, but Wyoming is a regulated market — there is no retail choice here and therefore no rate to shop. For a Wyoming business we can still audit the invoice, check the tariff and rate class, and handle procurement for any locations you operate in the states listed here. We will tell you which applies before you spend time on it.

Retail choice programmes change. Confirm eligibility for your specific utility and rate class before relying on this table.

10 Who you are dealing with

Bill Saving Infographic Portrait — 4:5

One person reads your bill. The same one calls you back.

Markoron is deliberately small. You are not routed to a call centre, and the person who audits your invoice is the person who negotiates on your behalf and who answers when you ring about a charge two years later.
